I am successfully growing grass in my garden. There is no grass in my yard, but there is grass in the garden. I have limited time to garden these days; therefore there are only tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and basil. I was afraid that nothing would grow because it had not rained here since I put my plants in, until last week. I had been watering the garden everyday, that is why there is grass in the garden, but not in the yard. Also the fact that I have very little time to attend to the garden plays a role in the grass growing also. With all the trials and tribulations of a first time gardener, with a little baby, there is some new growth. The basil has done extremely well; I have even used it in a recipe already. The tomatoes are starting to grow as is the lettuce, and it is yet to be seen if the cucumbers will make it.
Next year I hope to do better, but this is a start. I will try to get pictures.
I said in my heart, "I am sick of four walls and a ceiling. I have need of the sky. I have business with the grass." -Richard Hovey
A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

Kiah's Birthday Party
On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.
Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo
Well, I have resurfaced. It has been a long time.
Emerson has recently found a love for trains. Choo Choo is his favorite word. That and he likes to quack like a duck. Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose. It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.

Cute pictures. Better garden than the one that was in our yard when we moved it. It was full of weeds. No plants. The fence looks good. I am sure Dee and Loki love that. Emerson looks like he likes the baby food, must not be peas.
Your backyard looks huge - I am jealous. Maybe you should think about getting a goat for that weeding....
