A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

We got to put our gelments on....

Emerson has been taking the mountain/bridge thing off of his train table, putting it on his head, (We got to put our gelmets (helmets) on) and banging it with a piece of train track.  Sometimes I just do not understand.  If  you can't beat them, join them.  Let's all get our GELMETS on.

Random Picture Challenge

I have been checking out some blogs by other mammas.  I have found some incredible sites lately including this one, 4 Little Men and Girly Twins.  This is where I found the Random Picture Challenge.

Forced to slow down.

We have been making a lot of progress in our garden.  All of the herbs on the deck are growing great.  We even have some hot peppers and grape tomatoes growing.  Our garden is almost fully planted now.  We have cilantro growing like crazy, onions, kohlrabi, carrots, spinach, radishes, tomatoes, and banana peppers.  I am excited about all the fresh food we will have to eat this summer.

I have been instructed by my dr. not to pick up anything heavier than my coffee cup.  Since my laparoscopic surgery turned into reopening my c-section incision, I am unable to do much of anything.  Although it sounds nice, I am having a hard time because I cannot take care of the kids.  They have been staying with Todd's mom since Sunday night.  Athalie just got her first tooth while I was in the hospital.  She is getting so big.  I miss her so much.  And Emerson, he is just such a loving little boy.  He is working on Potty training right now.  He is pretty much potty trained as long as he has no pants on.  He still needs work with that part.  I think part of it has to do with the actual pulling down of the pants.  That is still hard for him to do.

Athalie's new high chair

Todd's dad is a welder, this is one of his creations.

Emerson is checking out the hummingbird feeder.  He did get to see one.  Now we have a birdfeeder outside of his window.  Either they don't know it is there yet, or he is making so much noise, they do not want to come that close.  I don't know which.

Athalie is now eating rice cereal (very exciting), peaches, and pears.  She has been trying out her new high chair.  She loves it.  It must be very comfortable.

Kiah's Birthday Party

On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.

Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

Well, I have resurfaced.  It has been a long time.

Emerson has recently found a love for trains.  Choo Choo is his favorite word.  That and he likes to quack like a duck.  Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose.  It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
