I said in my heart, "I am sick of four walls and a ceiling. I have need of the sky. I have business with the grass." -Richard Hovey
A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

September
Another day, another... Million things to do.
Nursing school is going well, but I am still running around trying to get everything in just the right state of complete chaos. In fact, I should be writing a paper right now. I just registered for another class today. Which led me to call my mom in order to locate my shot records, now that will take you back a few years. (No one is safe from my collateral damage so look out.)
I promised to take Emerson to the library today. Of course last time we returned books, he had taken one out of the bag before we left the house, so one of our books was late. I could not locate 20 cents in my car, in my purse, anywhere, (I know mom, I should always carry cash in case of emergencies) so we were not able to check out any more books, but we did read for awhile.
Supper, baths, bedtime, smoking 40 pounds of pork, homework, dishes, laundry, a psychology quiz. Todd and I were going to watch a movie, I just found him asleep on the couch. I still need to shower.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.... Yea right.
Mom promised to keep reminding me it is all worth it.

My Gardening Successes...
What Grew... What Didn't
Radishes TomatoesKohlrabi Onions
Cilantro Jalapeno Peppers
Basil Spinach
Banana Peppers
Cayenne Peppers
Okra
Sunflowers
Carrots
I have okra in the freezer,
banana peppers pickling,
cayenne peppers drying,
figs in the freezer,
fig jam,
fig newtons,
apple butter,
apple sauce,
carrots will be frozen in the next couple of weeks,
more apple sauce, butter, and anything else pertaining to apples will be made in the next couple of weeks,
pesto will be made and frozen for the winter, and I think that is about it.
Biggest Disappointment of the Season...
My tomatoes did nothing. Birds started eating them, bugs laid eggs in them, and the cage was really doing nothing to support the vines.
All in all, I am calling this a success.

Kiah's Birthday Party
On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.
Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo
Well, I have resurfaced. It has been a long time.
Emerson has recently found a love for trains. Choo Choo is his favorite word. That and he likes to quack like a duck. Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose. It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
