A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

This is an invitation

Trina, we could use some rain, would you like to camp at my house for a couple of days? It is getting very dry down our way, we barely have any grass left. I have not made any apple butter yet, but that does sound good. I bought some pears tonight so I can mush them up for Emerson. If you have ever read the ingredients on a baby food container you would think twice about feeding it to your child, too. All of the gerber organic food is just fruit and water, nothing else. If it is regular food, then there are all kinds of other things added, like sugar, and stuff I cannot spell. I bought some peach baby food the other day and then I read the label when I got home. Why can't it be just peaches? It is such a shame. So, I am going to go the farmers market and get some peaches and make my own peach baby food.

Trina, where is your blog?

Web Addresses

FYI, I just started to add some websites onto this blog. You can find them at the bottom of the page. The only one I have so far is pick your own. That website has recipes for freezing vegetables and drying herbs and such things.

All Natural

In an effort to go as natural as possible I made my own baby food today. It is not hard. Actually it is very easy although time consuming. I made apple sauce which was completely free because Todd's grandparents have a couple of apple trees, and I made squash, and I am going to make sweet potatoes tomorrow. I am enjoying this attempt at all natural. Making my own baby food is saving me money, and I know what is going into my kid.

Back to the daily grind

I wish I was talking about coffee, but no, Todd and I are both back to work. We have had a crazy month; vacations, visitors, weddings, and funerals. Funny, but it is comforting to get back to the daily grind after all of that (exept for the work part). Emerson is getting so big, he is almost eight months old now. He cannot crawl yet but he sure is getting close.

For all of you we saw this last month, it was good to see you. For all of you we missed, maybe next time. We miss everyone and wish we could see you more, but there is so little time right now. I am sure that everyone feels the same way, it is just so unfortunate that my private jet is out of service...

What a month

This month has been so crazy. We had a great trip to Chattanooga at the beginning of the month. My parents visited, Susie was here, and Jake and Brittany were here. We saw Amy and Brandon, they were in town for a week, and we just got home from a wedding in Lexington, Kentucky. All in all we had a great time, but a little tiring.

Emerson is doing great. He is sitting up all by himself now, and trying his best to crawl. I am still looking for a teaching position; no luck yet. Todd is wrapping up the summer semester and we are going to be traveling to Illinois to wrap up a very busy month.

Kiah's Birthday Party

On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.

Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

Well, I have resurfaced.  It has been a long time.

Emerson has recently found a love for trains.  Choo Choo is his favorite word.  That and he likes to quack like a duck.  Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose.  It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
