This last month has been terrible. Todd, Emerson, and I have all been sick, continuously, this whole month. We are just taking turns. I think we are going to be quarentined soon.
Emerson's Aunt Amy came and stayed with us for a couple of days. I think that Emerson had a great time. He kept Amy moving the whole time she was here.
He is going non-stop these days. He is "as tough as pine knots" as the saying goes in these parts. He runs all over the place, falls down, gets right back up again. He has hit is little forehead so many times. I get worried about all of the knocks on the head, but he seems not to mind.
Todd and I are planning our garden, it will be planting time before you know it. I am going to be canning and freezing all kinds of fruits and vegetables this summer. I cannot wait.
I am sending warm spring thoughts up North, it was 70 degrees here yesterday.
With love
I said in my heart, "I am sick of four walls and a ceiling. I have need of the sky. I have business with the grass." -Richard Hovey
A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

A great time at the zoo
Todd, Emerson, and I went to Atlanta to visit Season. It turned out to be a great day, the weather was great and so was the hospitality. The weather was so nice that day we decided to take Emerson to the zoo. As you can see from the pictures, he had a great time. Of course my favorite animal is the giraffe, but Emerson really enjoyed the petting zoo. Actually, he was a little bit uneasy around most of the animals in the petting zoo, but he really liked the kangaroo's. They were not in the petting zoo, but they were jumping around alot, so they were easy for him to see.
Season also took us to an interesting taco joint. No one is allowed to sit down. You have to stand in line, order, then you can sit. If you come in and want someone to order and someone to save a seat, the "bouncer" is going to ask you to get up and stand in line. No kidding, I actually saw "the man" kick a grandma and her grandchild out of a seat and make them stand in line with the rest of their party. I would hate to have that job, but it would be good for someone who needs to feel like they are powerful when they're not. The tacos were pretty good, not your standard taco bell taco, but they were good. I had my first fish taco, something I have been wanting to try, but the opportunity has always been interrupted.
All in all, great trip. Thanks Season.

And the winner is....
Aunt Season...
The winner of the best Christmas/Birthday gift is Aunt Season. You have to check out this hat she gave Emerson. It is too cute. Emerson had a great Christmas and a wonderful birthday. He probably thinks that Christmas is just a two week long celebration because that is what we did this year. With all of Todd's family in various places, and mine as well, Emerson must have opened presents everyday for the majority of two weeks. He received some great gifts, and we are grateful for everyone's generosity. Emerson has more toys than I like to pick up everyday.

HO, HO, HO....
Emerson's first Christmas was certainly eventful, at least for Todd and I if not for Emerson. He really could not have cared less. He pulled off a little wrapping paper and then lost interest. Todd and I opened most of his presents. We did have fun though. Emerson loves the Christmas tree. It has been a struggle to keep him from touching it.
We went to Charlotte this past Saturday to celebrate Christmas with some of Todd's family. Todd and I were lucky enough to get Panthers tickets. We left Emerson with the rest of the family and went to the game. We had a great time although the Panthers lost. I do cheer for the Panthers, but they of course are not my favorite team. GO BEARs.
I missed everyone on Christmas. Although I had a great time with Todd's family, there is no place like Grandpa's for Christmas Eve. I hope everyone recieved all they could have wished for this holiday season.

Much to be Thankful for...
Well, with much sadness I must report that I am no longer pregnant. Todd and I are doing ok, we are doing our best to focus on Emerson and his upcoming first birthday. We are going with a Bob the Builder theme, Emersom doesn't really care, but I think it is cute.
I hope that Thanksgiving found most of you fat and happy, ours was very nice. Full of good food and good company. Corey and Dave were able to come down for a short visit.
Remember to go green when doing your Christmas shopping, we are wrapping in newspaper this year so don't be surprised.
We love you all and are wishing you the best holiday season.

Kiah's Birthday Party
On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.
Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo
Well, I have resurfaced. It has been a long time.
Emerson has recently found a love for trains. Choo Choo is his favorite word. That and he likes to quack like a duck. Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose. It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
