A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

A hunting we will go.

Emerson went on his first Easter Egg hunt a couple of weeks ago.  He did really well.  He found about 10 eggs.  They were not filled with anything that interested him, but he liked playing with the eggs.

We recently took a trip to Chattanooga.  We took Emerson climbing.  I had to carry him into the woods for at least a mile.  By the time we got in there, I was too tired to climb.  We had a great time though.  It was so nice to be outside and doing something we love.  There are so many things that we did when we lived in Chattanooga that we never do anymore.  Mostly because they are not right in our backyard anymore.

We also went out to eat with some old friends.  We made reservations and when we got there, they would not let us in.  This restaurant chooses smokers over families.  It is a bar and grill, but they have a no smoking section.  They do not allow anyone under 21 to enter.  They said it is a law in Chattanooga now.  I haven't found any such law on the internet, I have been looking.  Talk about discrimination.  I was so angry.  It wasn't like I was taking my son to a bar.  It was 6:00 in the evening, I had no intentions of drinking anything more that a coke, and we had reservations for the non-smoking section.  Also, do I not have the right to make choices for my son.  If I want to take him into a restaurant filled with smoke, by God, I should be able to.  I was so furious.

All in all, our trip was a success.  We ended up going to a Mexican restaurant, who by the way also allows smoking, and the food was better than the other place would have been anyway.

Emerson got  to play with Nathan and Amanda's little boy.  Kiah is 10 months old.  They had a good time together.

Emerson is getting so big! I can't wait to see him again. Any trips this way planned? We ran into that same problem in Arkansas, at a restaurant that wouldn't let anyone under 21 in, and we were going for breakfast! I am happy that Illinois has no smoking anywhere in businesses in illinois, you cannot and have dinner and a couple drinks and not stink like a chimney.

Sounds like a good time on Easter and in Chattanooga. Tell Todd I said hello. Russ and I might be heading to Chatt to Riverbend in June and to visit Jeneva.

Kiah's Birthday Party

On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.

Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

Well, I have resurfaced.  It has been a long time.

Emerson has recently found a love for trains.  Choo Choo is his favorite word.  That and he likes to quack like a duck.  Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose.  It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
