A moody child and wildly wise
Pursued the game with joyful eyes,
Which chose, like meteors, their way,
and rived the dark with private ray
They overleapt the horizon's edge,
Searched with Apollos privilege;
Through man, and woman, and sea, and star.
Saw the dancer of nature forward far,
Through worlds, and races, and terms, and times
Saw a musical order, and pairing rhymes.

I Heart Faces Pet Week

This would have been my submission to this weeks contest, but I did not get it in on time. It is so funny, I wanted to share anyway.

December 2009

Ok, no jokes about Athalie's outfit. I had to throw on the blue striped tights. She looks like she belongs in the '80's.

Emerson was yelling at Athalie. He wanted her to blow the seeds off the dandelion.
Pics from our fall photo shoot. Emerson is impossible to shoot. It makes it even harder when I am doing this myself.

Our Beautiful Christmas Tree.
This was Emerson and Athalie's 1st Christmas Parade. It was cold, but Emerson had so much fun. Athalie really didn't care one way or another, maybe next year.

IHeartFaces or tooshies

Please take some time to check out Iheartfaces.com and see some more tooshie shots.

This is my entry into this weeks contest. I was not sure I had a tooshie pic, I usually delete those. I saved this one because I wanted to remember this spot. I would like to take some front facing pics there someday.

November

Here are some great pics from November. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and Happy Holidays to come. November for us was extremely busy. Athalie's birthday and church dedication on the 15th. We also had some very sad days, Todd's Grandfather passed away. There were a number of trips up to Asheville and back to visit at the hospital. Along with that came child juggling which is never easy on anyone. Doug kept the kids, Todd's great-aunt Joanne, and my mom also kept the kids. Everyone was busy. Our refrigerator broke, taking with it all of my frozen garden goods and lots of other stuff too. We tried to finish putting in the tile kitchen floor (it's still not done.) All in good time. We are thankful for many things, so onto December. Yea for Christmas. We just got our tree. It is so tall it barely fits in the room. 9 1/2 ft. It is beautiful though. Todd and Emerson picked it out while Athalie and I went Christmas shopping. (Possible new Simons' family tradition, who knows.) Oh, we also visited Indiana for Ethan's birthday party. That was a hard trip, but well worth the time and tears.

Kiah's Birthday Party

On May 10th we drove to Chattanooga for our friends' babies first birthday party. Emerson had a great time. They had a baby pool and a slip and slide. Our other friend David was there with his twins. Daniel and Olivia played with Emerson in the baby pool. I think Emerson really liked having kids his size to play with.

Getting ready for more.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

Well, I have resurfaced.  It has been a long time.

Emerson has recently found a love for trains.  Choo Choo is his favorite word.  That and he likes to quack like a duck.  Todd and I took Emerson to see this train caboose.  It is parked in Clemson University's botanical garden.
