So many things to be thankful for...

...last year at this time it was Todd and I, the dogs, and baby on the way.

We are thankful for...

1. Emerson
2. Our new home
3. Family
4. Friends
5. Health, (even if we are sick now and then)
6. We both have new jobs in the teaching field
7. Sleeping through the night (sometimes)
8. Technology (or you would not be seeing this right now)
9. Opportunities
10. and the new baby on the way.

This year it is Todd, Emerson, and I, the dogs, and the new baby on the way.

Just another November day

All is going well in these parts although we are all feeling a bit under the weather. Emerson has a runny nose. Todd and I are also not feeling that great.

We almost finished the new living room and dining room floor we have been working on for the last couple of weeks. We just have to complete the molding and stuff. We did a pretty good job for first timers. Don't call us if you need help though, we are really not interested in making it a full time job.

Thanksgiving is coming. Unfortunately we will not be making an appearance in Illinois this holiday season. You will have to fly south to see us this year. Two years in a row, I know, I know. I wish everyone the very best holiday season.

Fall is finally here...

...but is it here to stay. We have more grass right now than we have had all summer. We are still in a severe drought, but we did get a little rain this week and the temperature has cooled off a little. Emerson is now 10 months old. Getting big. He is eating just about everything that Todd and I are. Todd can't wait until Emerson is one so that he can take him out for sushi. The doctor said it would be alright after that. Emerson is not a picky eater like his mom. He enjoys most vegetables, turkey, meatball subs, and cherios. We are trying to go very light on the sugar. He only drinks his formula and water. He is doing very well these days. He is not walking on his own yet, but he is making his way around the furniture.

Todd and I are going to carve a pumpkin tomorrow. I think I am going to let Emerson help. He should help with his first pumpkin don't you think?

Two weeks and sick already.

Well, I have been at my new job for two weeks now, and I am sick already. I went to bed with a sore throat Sunday night and went to school quite sick on Monday. It is Tuesday now and I am feeling somewhat better. I am trying not to get Emerson sick, but I am sure sometime this winter I will probably pass something on.

Todd and I have been busy working on the house. As you can see from the picture we painted our shudders, we also put in a new dishwasher, and we are going to be putting in wood flooring. The dogs have not been kind to the burbur carpeting.

We are going to be going to Chattanooga this weekend. The best man from our wedding is getting married. I am looking forward to going, I still love Chattanooga. There is no place like it for me. We may take the little guy and go climbing. The couple that we are staying with have a son that was born in May, if we all go together, Amanda and I can take turns climbing and watching the babies. Should be fun, maybe Emerson can get on a couple of routes. Just kidding.

No more banking for me.

Hey all,

I just took a new job. I will be working as a teacher's aid at a nearby school. Considering the school year has already started, I am grateful for the opportunity just to get my foot in the door. I will be starting this new position on the 24th of September, and I am looking forward to it. Todd is back in full swing at the college breaking in the new group of freshman. They did not know what they were getting themselves into when they signed up for CrispSimons' class. I do not feel sorry for them though, they need to start putting all that money to good use. Might as well break them in right. Just kidding, I have actually met some of Todd's old students, they all have great things to say about him. He really enjoys his job. I am hoping that I will enjoy my new career just as much. One benefit is that I will be able to spend more time with Todd and Emerson. Instead of getting off of work at 5 or 5:3o, and picking Emerson up at close to 6, I will be able to pick him up around 4. That leaves me a lot more time to make baby food. Just kidding. I am looking forward to the hours though.

Emerson has to little teeth now. His bottom teeth have come through. He is getting around good, but he is not up on his hands and knees, it is more of an army crawl. All is well, and he is almost 9 months old now. Boy he sure is getting tall. We will get his stats at his 9 month wellness visit to the dr's.
