Emerson Learns to Drive

Emerson decided to drive his Grandmother's golf cart last weekend. I was standing outside with him and Athalie. Emerson was climbing on the golf cart, I turned my back for a second and he stomped on the gas. He went about 5 feet before he crashed into the flower bed. He hit the timbers on the ground and that kicked the golf cart up at an angle and he went flying out of the cart. I think I almost had a heart attack. We took him to the emergency room, the nurse at the triage station checked him out very thoroughly and sent us home. Everything was just fine.

I am afraid of what he might get into next.

I repeat, I should be sleeping.

Things are going well. Todd and I are doing some renovations in the house, as well as finishing a couple of already begun renovations. Todd is somewhat enjoying this, but i am anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring. I want to start my garden. I am so looking forward to it. I just planted some daffodils. I actually dug them up from Todd's Grandma's and transplanted them to our house. They are already starting to bloom down here. Other than that, nothing new going on.

I should be sleeping

Hello,

Both the children are asleep. Please be quite.

Athalie is now three and a half months old. We have had a crazy, crazy year so far. January 15th, I took both the kids to our new Dr. (Long story why we had to get a new Dr., but I am not going into that.) Athalie had a wellness appointment and Emerson had a cough. Within the next three weeks, I had the children to see our new Dr. six times between them. I was going with one or the other or both, twice a week. Emerson had the flu, throwing up everywhere, then I got it. I did not even take him to the Dr. for that. I think we are all healthy now, until the next round.

Now, Athalie is in physical therapy. She has a tight muscle in her neck, it is causing her to keep her head slightly turned towards one side. It is hardly noticeable, but better to take care of it now. The therapist also said that by fixing this problem, it should help with another problem. Because of the way she is holding her head, one side of her forehead is a little larger than the other. By working with her to turn to her left side more often, the bones in her head should move to correct that. If it is not looking better in two weeks, she may have to wear a helmet for awhile. This sounds so bad, but it is not as serious as it sounds. All of this is barely noticeable.

Emerson is running wild. He loves to be outside. I cannot wait for the weather to warm up. I am excited about planting our garden. Emerson and I are already picking out seeds. He started a watermelon plant in a cup this week, and we dug up some daffodils from Todd's grandma's house today to plant at our house.

That is about all that is going on here.

Potty Training

Well, now that I have two children in diapers, it is time for potty training. It is going fairly well. Emerson has a potty chart where he can put his Thomas the Train stickers when he successfully uses the potty. I am pleased with his progress.
